Cancer Diagnosis

Cancer Sucks.

It’s a scary word.

The minute you hear your Doctor utter, “I’m so sorry. You have cancer,” everything in your world comes to a crashing to a halt.

“Did I hear what I think I just heard?” you ask yourself.

Immediately, fear takes over, you feel your heart sink deep into the pit of your stomach, and your brain seems as if to shut down. You feel numb.

You respond in one of three ways:

“I’m going to fight this!”

“Get me the hell out of here!”

“I can’t move let alone breathe.”

You go into survival mode: Fight. Flight. Or Freeze. This is a natural and normal response to any potentially life threatening illness – survival.

I’ve sat with countless numbers of people diagnosed with cancer. All stages and with survivors wondering, “Will this come back?”

I’ve also sat with countless family, friends, and caregivers; each one dealing with the gamut of countless shockwaves and aftershocks surrounding the word CANCER in their own way.

I See You. I Hear You.

I want you to know that no matter how you or your loved ones have been touched by cancer, I see you. I hear you. And your emotions are valid. I will walk with you in whatever stage of the journey you may find yourself in.

I will help you process through the avalanche of emotion and am willing to take you as deep as you want to go. But I will respect where you don’t want to go.

You are not alone.
