Group Therapy

Community is essential to the healing process.

For this reason, I offer safe, inclusive, small group environments.

Small groups provide connection and community in a safe space for participants to share their struggles without fear. Group counseling serves as an adjunct to one-on-one therapy.

When you find authentic, non-performance based, messy community that embraces all of you and not just the shiny good parts, that is light. Run towards it like someone left the gate open.

Life After Loss

The Grief Recovery Method®

A six week support group for those who have suffered from grief and loss due to death, divorce, loss of career, loss of trust, loss of faith, loss of safety, loss of health, loss of identity and other significant losses.

Your feelings are normal and natural. The problem is that we’ve been socialized to believe that these feelings are abnormal and unnatural.

People say you have to let go and move on in your life, but they don’t tell you what you need to do to accomplish that.

The Grief Recovery Method® Support Group not only makes that possible, but provides partnership and guidance to ensure that happens. It’s an action-based group for moving beyond loss.

Connections

A Group for Men & Women Seeking to Combat Shame with Courage & Compassion: Developed by Brene` Brown, PhD.

The Connections Shame-Resilience Co-Ed Group will help you create real change in your life with new skills for empathy, self-compassion and authenticity. Learn about courage, compassion and connection as the antidote to common problems like shame, addiction, depression, codependence, perfectionism, self-doubt, and more.

This group experience is a unique opportunity to journey with others who desire to reclaim their hearts from shame in exchange for greater joy and gratitude.

This group will help you:

  • Claim your courage by understanding shameful feelings and actions while practicing compassion and empathy.
  • Feel authentic connections with others by letting go of fear, blame and perfectionism.
  • Find the courage to drop your masks and be your authentic self.
  • Develop skills to empower you to live wholeheartedly.

Journey to Freedom

Journey to Freedom is an eight week Christ-centered small group, offering a safe place for you to confront areas of your life you have become hopeless – anxiety, depression, food and body image issues, fear, grief, low self-worth, relationship issues.

The group explores:

  • What is needed for real change, and why other attempts have failed.
  • How to create a foundation for change regardless of the circumstance.
  • How to silence your negative thoughts and achieve your true purpose.
  • The benefits of having a spiritual process as part of your healing.
  • Discovering new tools you will need to make change permanent.

Freedom in Relationships

Freedom in Relationships is a 15-week small group class that teaches you how to let go of unhealthy relationships and define healthy ones. Using interactive techniques, participants examine their lives and learn how to break negative patterns while addressing common relationship challenges by examining past relationships with family, significant others, friends, authority figures and God.

Prerequisite: Completion of “Journey to Freedom” or counselor recommendation is required for this group.

Power to Choose

This group is an intensive Christ-centered 12-step weekly study for women who are ready to get to the root of the issues they cannot seem to control.

Whether it is an addiction issue, being in relationship with someone who has an addiction, or a struggle with depression, self-image, or difficulty getting past the past – this group will help participants apply the 12-step principles to get to a place of serenity and freedom.

Prerequisite: Completion of “Journey to Freedom” or counselor recommendation is required for this group.

Boundaries

This 10-week small group class can help you understand physical, mental, emotional and spiritual boundaries to help you take control of your life by learning when to say “yes” and when to say “no.”

Class participants will find answers to questions such as “Can I set limits and still be a loving person?”, “What are legitimate boundaries?”, “What if someone is upset or hurt by my boundaries?”, “How do I answer someone who wants my time, love, energy or money?” and “Why do I feel guilty when I consider setting boundaries?”

Dr. Henry Cloud’s and Dr. John Townsend’s Boundaries curriculum offers biblically-based answers to these and other tough questions, showing participants how to set healthy boundaries with parents, spouses, children, friends, co-workers, and even themselves.

Prerequisite: Completion of “Journey to Freedom” or counselor recommendation is required for this group.
